There are no new setups for today. We aren't looking to do too much ahead of the long weekend. We removed MT from the full-serve watchlist due to yesterday's 6% selloff on heavy volume. In Wednesday's Stalk Sheet we mentioned that the broad market may have put in an intermediate term bottom. Though our buy signals are based on broad market price and volume action, we we always look for confirmation of a bottom through the price and volume action of individual stocks that are leading the market. Yesterday's action was disappointing, as we saw market leading stocks sell off on heavy volume. Next week's action should clear the picture up.

Market Conditions / Gameplan:

The NYSE advancing volume was more than 94% of the total volume on Tuesday. This is the second time in just two weeks that we have seen this number rise above 90%. When there are two or more readings of over 90% the odds favor the market moving significantly higher over the next few months. We are now looking for stocks breaking out to new highs on heavy volume for confirmation of an intermediate term market bottom.

- SIAL - Sold off with the market after a promising open. We did not like the high volume and ugly selling action into the close. If SIAL has trouble holding up today we may cut the position at or near breakeven via email alert. No change in stop.
